Reports To: Bakery Manager

As a Bakery Service Counter Clerk, you’ll be a key player in making sure our bakery department is stocked with fresh, delicious products and that every guest leaves with a smile. With the leadership of the Bakery Department Manager, you'll work closely with all Bakery associates to maintain a well-stocked and inviting bakery department.

 

Providing excellent guest service is at the heart of what we do.  Whether it’s a friendly greeting, answering questions or addressing guest concerns, you’ll handle each interaction with professionalism and care. Your willingness to help guests with what they need will make a positive impact every day.

What You'll Do:
As a Bakery Service Counter Clerk at Festival Foods, your responsibilities will include:
 
  • Guest Service Excellence: Provide outstanding customer service to all guests, assisting them with their needs from the case and helping them find items on the sales floor.
  • Order Fulfillment: Take and process orders, including special requests, ensuring accuracy and guest satisfaction.
  • Phone Assistance: Answer phone calls with proper etiquette, assisting guests with inquiries or orders.
  • Product Packaging: Package prepared bakery products, reducing shrink by using appropriate packaging and ensuring accurate pricing with corresponding labels.
  • Stock Management: Fill, rotate, and remove products on the sales floor as needed. Keep displays fresh by replenishing stock and ensuring that products with closer date products are prioritized for sale.
  • Maintain Cleanliness: Contribute to the overall cleanliness of the department by organizing and cleaning work areas, shelving, and sales floor as needed.
  • Food Safety: Maintain food safety logs and ensure all quality standards are met, including quantity expectations at 100% by 10 am and 5 pm.
  • Honor Commitments: Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences
  • Support the Team: Other duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For:

To excel as a Bakery Service Counter Clerk, you'll need:

  • Customer Service Skills: Ability to interact effectively and tactfully with guests and all team members.
  • Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills to ensure clear and effective interactions with guests and colleagues.
  • Safety Knowledge: A complete understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies to ensure a safe working environment.

  • Stand in one place for a long period of time, bend, stoop, and kneel regularly (80% of time)
  • Full range of upper body motion
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis  (20% of time)

Work Schedule:

The Bakery Service Counter Clerk is a position with both part-time and full-time opportunities available. The work schedule may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays, providing the flexibility to meet the needs of our guests.
